What is a “Sound Bath” and how will it help you?

You may have heard about a sound bath but have no idea what it is. The first question you may be thinking is… “do I need to wear a swimsuit?!”

Firstly no swim wear required and you can also keep all your clothes on too!

A sound bath is a holistic healing modality that is non evasive yet highly effective in promoting a state of deep relaxation but also removes energetic blockages in the body.  Sound therapy can help to treat stress, anxiety, depression, tension, physical pain and sleep disorders.

A sound bath is a mediative journey with the vibration of sound instruments, I use a variety of planetary and moon gongs, chakra and alchemy bowls and a few other bits and bobs to create a sound experience which takes you beyond your senses and helps you to let go of the restrictions of your monkey mind and journey into something beyond, sound shifts in our brainwave state to theta and delta into a place where we can relax deeply and access inner healing.

You begin in a seated position with some breath work to bring you back into your body and help you step away from the expectations and judgements of your mind.

You are then guided to lay down on your back if its comfortable and find a position where you can stay for the next 40 minutes. The sound starts gently and you may feel the vibrations start to move through your body, you may notice your mind still busy and chattering and not wanting to slow down, you are invited to release the need to hold onto the thoughts and let each one pass rather than get absorbed into the story.

As the sound starts to build the sensations in your body can vary from feeling tingling, heaviness, lightness. You may have a more visual experience and see colours, experiences or animals. You may relive traumas that you feel your body release.

You may just fall off to into a deep and restful sleep!

Each experience is different.

The sound takes you where you need to go.
